Playground at Malone Park
Malone Park - New Berlin, WI
NBJWC raised funds for several years and wanted to provide a special place for the community. The City of New Berlin approached NBJWC to join them on all accessible playground build. NBJWC voted to participate in the project and donated $250K.
This playground at Malone Park is our most magnificent endeavor yet. Design Day was set for January 27th with elementary students of New Berlin schools. In the morning, students took part in interviews and drawing pictures of their dream playground. Next the volunteers presented the ideas to the designer who designed the playground and presented to the community at the evening reception.
Along with the City of New Berlin team, NBJWC recruited the community members. Club members rolled up our sleeves and build this marvelous place for the entire community to enjoy.
Thank you New Berlin and surrounding communities for helping us bring an all accessible/all inclusive, community-built, playground to New Berlin. The playground is conveniently located in the heart of New Berlin, between the Police Department and City Hall.
Build Week was May 16th - 22nd, 2016.
Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting was held on July 2, 2016.
